Winter Cancellation Policy for Extension Programs The
greatest number of Extension agriculture and natural resources programs are
conducted during January through March, the same months when winter weather
is the most tricky. Ÿ
For programs where you register with us in advance,
we will always call you about the cancellation of that program. Ÿ
For other programs where advance registration is not
involved, communicating a cancellation becomes more difficult. As a general rule, if the program is
being held in a school, and that particular school district is closed that
day due to severe weather, our program will likewise be cancelled. This is true even if our program is
schedule for the evening. Ÿ
There may be other times where school is not cancelled during the
day, but conditions dictate that we cancel an evening program. In those instances, we will attempt
to post these cancellations on WTOV-9 TV and area radio stations, as well as
Extension Office telephone answering machines. Ÿ
All cancellation notices will, of course, be posted on our web site. When in
doubt, call the Extension office to find out if a scheduled program will be
held during severe weather.
