When a livestock emergency occurs, every minute counts. This session is designed to help producers and 4‑H/FFA families build confidence and readiness for animal health incidents by preparing a well‑equipped Emergency Vet Box and understanding key steps to take before the veterinarian arrives.

Participants will learn what to keep on hand, how to organize supplies for quick access, and how to respond safely and appropriately during common livestock emergencies such as injuries, dystocia, illness, or environmental stress events. The program will also cover basic first-response actions, safe animal handling during emergencies, and effective communication with veterinary professionals to ensure timely care.

This event is free, and a meal will be provided. Credit available for Beef Quality Assurance Recertification for participants.

Pre-registration is required by March 3. Register by calling 740-461-6136 or email lyon.194@osu.edu.
