Our Purpose:
To teach life skills to 4-H youth through the shooting sports curriculum and activities that will enable boys and girls to reach fullest potential as capable, caring and contributing citizens.
The Ohio 4-H Shooting Sports program utilizes the National 4-H Shooting Sports curriculum. This project area is a Science and Technology 4-H program delivered through a 4-H leader directed group setting, conducted and taught by specially trained and certified 4-H Shooting Sports instructors. A 4-H member may not enroll in shooting sports projects without direct supervision of a certified instructor in the project area. Project record books are available for members to establish goals and objectives and keep necessary records. Participation in any shooting sports project requires a member with the physical size to handle the shooting equipment and the attention span and maturity to follow directions and abide by all safety protocols. The program is designed for 4-H members ages 9 and above (age is of January 1 of the current year).
The Shooting Sports projects include:
- #750 Rifle
- #751 Archery (this is a different project from 631 Basic Archery)
- #752 Shotgun
- #753 Pistol
