    March 6-12 was Ohio 4-H Week. In Jefferson County 4-H, a business window decorating contest is the way each club promotes the opportunities 4-H has to offer.  Overall, it's a way for the clubs to, be creative, have fun, and let's get the word out about this amazing program! All the clubs did a fantastic job! Thank you for your creativity and for promoting 4-H throughout Jefferson County!

    Jefferson County Extension staff will be setting up for the county fair today, August 11, 2021. Since all staff will be unavailable from 10AM to 4:30PM, the downtown office will be closed. We will return 12PM August 12 to accept walk-in visits.

    The office will also be closed during business hours August 16th-20th since staff will be out assisting with Jefferson County Fair activities.

    We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

  8. Farm Pesticide Disposal Schedule Now Available

    The Ohio Department of Agriculture will be sponsoring three collection events for farmers wishing to dispose of unwanted pesticides. This year, the collections are happening in Morrow, Portage and Butler counties on the following days and locations:

    August 12, 8AM – 3PM: Morrow County, Morrow County Fairgrounds,195 South Main Street, Mt. Gilead, Ohio 43338

     

    August 17, 9AM – 3PM: Portage County, Deerfield Ag Services 9041 US-224, Deerfield, Ohio 44411

  10. Jefferson County Extension Back to Regular Business Hours

    As of today, June 1, the Jefferson County Extension office is back to normal hours - Mondays through Fridays 8AM to 4:30pm! If you are dropping off forms or purchasing soil kits and publications, stop by anytime during our regular hours. If you need to chat with one of our staff (example: talk to Leslie to discuss cloverbud activities or talk to Erika to discuss what's wrong with my plant), call ahead before visiting to make sure they are available to assist you. Samples (plants or insects) can also be dropped off during business hours for identification.
