From May 12–15, 2025, students from across Jefferson County had the opportunity to step outside the classroom and into nature during Fernwood Days, held at Fernwood State Forest in Bloomingdale, Ohio. This immersive educational event welcomed 5th grade classes from six local schools to engage in hands-on learning centered around Agricultural and Natural Resources.

Throughout the week, students rotated through a series of interactive stations led by local organizations and professionals, each offering a unique perspective on how classroom concepts translate into real-world applications and career pathways.
